I’m an illustrator and have been drawing for 20 years now (I think–I’ll have to ask my mom).
Hi there, I am Amy Whiteman, an artist and a passionate serial hobbyist. My artistic journey began when I was young, exploring the world with colorful sketches and paintings. As I grew, my curiosity led me to try various mediums and styles, making my life an ever-changing canvas.
From classic watercolor paintings to comics, I love experimenting with art and pushing boundaries. But that’s not all–I’m constantly seeking new outlets for my creativity. Knitting, crocheting, paper-cutting, screen printing you name it–I dive into ever hobby that sparks my interest, and each one teaches me something valuable.
Nature and art history are huge inspirations for me. Capturing the beauty of flowers in my art helps me connect with the world around me.

Communicated scientific subject matter in a clear and informative way. Worked with writers and subject matter experts to simplify complicated topics for use in production. Created and managed digital assets for use in final production.

Content Creation — Integrated 3D anatomy visualization software into interactive educational content for anatomy classes of all levels. Created custom content using Adobe Captivate to increase student engagement and understanding.
Customer Support — Interfaced with new and existing customer to provide support, individualized software training, and technical support.
Marketing and Sales Support — Created digital assets to increase marketing and sales efforts through both social and traditional media.
Iowa State University Reiman Gardens — Design Intern & Horticulturalist
April 2017 - July 2018 Ames, IA
Created art for educational and merchandising purposes. Assisted in garden art installations and developed seasonal displays in the 17 acre, public horticulture and botanical garden. Worked full time in the summer and 15 hours during the school year to maintain garden as a part of a large grounds crew.
